Energy production structure is more diverse and more reasonable, energy consumption is cleaner and more intensive-the National Bureau of Statistics recently released the 40-year energy development report of reform and opening up, showing that my country's energy development has made historic achievements that have attracted worldwide attention in the past 40 years , Energy saving and consumption reduction continue to advance.

my country has become the world's largest energy producer

With the continuous advancement of structural reforms on the energy supply side, my country's energy production has grown from weak to strong, achieving great development. In 1978, my country's total energy production was only 630 million tons of standard coal. In 2017, it reached 3.59 billion tons of standard coal, an increase of 4.7 times over 1978, with an average annual growth rate of 4.6%. China has become the world's largest energy producer.

In the past 40 years of reform and opening up, my country’s energy production structure has accelerated from raw coal to a diversified and clean transition, and the development momentum has accelerated from traditional energy to new energy. In 2017, the output of raw coal was 3.52 billion tons, an increase of 4.7 times over 1980, an average annual increase of 4.8%; the output of crude oil was 190 million tons, an increase of 0.8 times, and an average annual increase of 1.6%; the output of natural gas was 148 billion cubic meters, an increase of 9.4 times, The average growth rate was 6.5%; primary power output was 1.8 trillion kwh, an increase of 30.5 times, with an average annual growth rate of 9.8%.

my country's previous situation of "more coal, less oil and gas shortage" is gradually changing. The proportion of clean energy such as natural gas, primary power and other energy sources continued to increase. Natural gas increased from 2.9% in 1978 to 5.4%, the highest in 2017, and primary power and other energy increased from the lowest of 3.1% in 1978 to the highest of 17.4 in 2017. %, an increase of 2.5 and 14.3 percentage points respectively.

In terms of international cooperation, the “Belt and Road” energy cooperation has been pragmatically promoted, with the ability to import oil and gas steadily improved, and varieties continued to be optimized. Compared with 2012, my country's total energy net imports increased by 7.3% annually. Among them, raw coal decreased by 1.2% annually, crude oil increased by 9.1% annually, and natural gas increased by 18.4% annually.

The proportion of clean energy consumption continues to increase

Since the reform and opening up, under the vigorous promotion of various energy transformation and reform policies and measures, my country's energy consumption has shown a steady growth as a whole, and the energy consumption conditions and levels have been continuously improved. In 2017, my country's total energy consumption was 4.49 billion tons of standard coal, an increase of 6.9 times over 1978, with an average annual increase of 5.4%.

At present, my country's energy consumption is increasing steadily, the consumption structure is continuously optimized, and the elasticity coefficient of energy consumption has generally remained low. In 2016, my country's per capita energy consumption was 3161 kilograms of standard coal, an increase of 4.1 times from 614 kilograms of standard coal in 1980, with an average annual increase of 4.7%. Among them, coal decreased by 1.5% annually, electricity increased by 11.9%, liquefied petroleum gas increased by 11.4%, and natural gas increased by 14.6%.

The proportion of coal in total energy consumption showed an overall downward trend, from 70.7% in 1978 to 60.4%, the lowest in 2017, a decrease of 10.3 percentage points. The proportion of oil in the volatility showed a trend of first falling, then rising, then falling and then rising. The highest was 22.7% in 1978 and 18.8% in 2017, a decrease of 3.9 percentage points. The proportion of clean energy consumption such as natural gas, primary power and other energy continues to increase. Natural gas increased from 3.2% in 1978 to 7.0%, the highest in 2017, and primary power and other energy increased from the lowest 3.4% in 1978 to the highest in 2017 13.8%, an increase of 3.8 and 10.4 percentage points respectively.

Save and use 1.03 billion tons of standard coal in 5 years

As my country's economic development has entered a new stage, energy development has also entered a new stage. Since the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan", energy consumption per unit of GDP has been continuously included in my country's "Eleventh Five-Year", "12th Five-Year" and "13th Five-Year" Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development. At present, my country’s energy consumption per unit of GDP has shown a downward trend. In 2017, it was 77.2% lower than in 1978, with an average annual decrease of 3.7%, a cumulative decrease of 20.9% compared with 2012, and an average annual decrease of 4.6%. The rate of decrease was 1.0 percentage point higher, and the accumulated energy saved and reduced in the five years was about 1.03 billion tons of standard coal.

The role of industrial energy saving is outstanding, and the reduction of energy consumption per unit of GDP is mainly contributed by industry. In 2017, the energy consumption per unit value added of industrial enterprises above designated size decreased by 27.6% compared with 2012, which was 6.7 percentage points higher than the cumulative decrease in energy consumption per unit of GDP, and an average annual decrease of 6.3%, which was higher than the average annual decrease in energy consumption per unit of GDP by 1.7 percentage points. Calculated according to the energy consumption per unit of industrial added value, industries above designated size have saved about 920 million tons of standard coal in five years, accounting for nearly 90% of the total energy saved in society.

The optimization of the internal structure of the industry has brought significant energy-saving effects, and the elimination of outdated production capacity has achieved remarkable results. In recent years, the country has strictly controlled the excessive growth of high energy-consuming industries. Compared with 2012, the energy consumption per unit value added of the six high-energy-consuming industries decreased by 23.2%, with an average annual decrease of 5.2%. The cumulative energy saving in the five years was about 6.8 100 million tons of standard coal, accounting for more than 65% of the total energy savings in society. In the past five years, the state has eliminated 21.08 million kilowatts of power capacity, 520 million tons of coal, 58.97 million tons of iron and 66.4 million tons of steel.

The efficiency of energy processing and conversion has generally improved, and the utilization of waste heat and energy has achieved remarkable results. Compared with 2012, the energy processing and conversion efficiency of industrial enterprises above designated size increased by 1.8 percentage points in 2017. In 2017, the energy recovery rate of industrial enterprises above designated size was 2.7%, an increase of 0.4% compared with 2012. In the past five years, a total of 760 million tons of standard coal was recycled.
